Reference management software: EndNote

Sometimes, instead of citations, there is strange information in a Word document. Try this to fix it:

1. Go to Word Options.
2. Click on Advanced and scroll down to Show Document Content
3. Uncheck the box called Show field codes instead of their values
4. Click OK.

Do not save your EndNote library on a cloud storage or a networked drive, such as Dropbox or iCloud as this may damage your EndNote library. If you have set up your Mac so that your desktop and documents are saved in iCloud, you should not save your EndNote library in the Documents folder or on the Desktop. Instead, you can create a special folder for your EndNote library in the Program/Applications folder that does not sync with iCloud. Read more about EndNote and iCloud.
