Cite using Oxford

The footnote for blog posts is similar to what is used for news articles.

It is often sufficient to name the blog post in the footnote instead of both the footnote and the bibliography.

Only note blog posts in the bibliography if they support your argument or if they are cited multiple times.

The footnote to a web page or blog should include the following information:  

  • Author or responsible organization / authority / etc.
  • Web page title/blog post title (in quotation marks)
  • Website name/ owner / blog name (italics)
  • Scource type (blog, webpage, etc)
  • Date of last updated (if available)
  • Access date
  • URL

  • Web page title/blog post title (in quotation marks)
