To get started with Zotero, you need to download:
Before you start, close your word processor and all MS Office applications.
Go to https://www.zotero.org/download/.
If the Zotero icon does not show up in the browser toolbar even though you downloaded the Connector, you need to make it visible. You can find the Zotero extension under the icon that looks like a puzzle piece.
Firefox
If you use Firefox, click on the puzzle piece → Extensions → activate Zotero Connector under Manage Your Extensions.
Chrome/Edge
If you use Chrome or Edge, click on Extensions (puzzle piece) and Pin or Show Zotero Connector.
Safari
If you use Safari, click on Settings, then choose Extensions (puzzle piece) and then tick Zotero connector.
If you cannot find the Zotero tab in your word processor, you need to install the add-in manually. Before installing the add-in, close your word processor. If you use Microsoft Word, also close other Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Click on Edit → Settings → Cite and click on Install Microsoft Add-in under Word Processors; or if you are using the LibreOffice Word processor instead, click on Install LibreOffice Add-in.
