General

In the IEEE style, journal titles are usually abbreviated. If you don't know the abbreviation of a journal title, try searching for the journal in Web of Science Journal Title Abbreviations. Click on the first letter of the journal in question and use Ctrl + F to search for the journal in the list.

Comments
  • Printed and electronic journal articles follow the same format. If you have an ID number for the article, such as a DOI number you can add it to the end of the reference.

  • Use the abbreviated form of the journal title if it has one.

  • If an article has an article number instead of page numbers, add it after the year. See [5] above.
