In order for us to continue to have a pleasant environment to work creatively in, all users must follow the rules/code of conduct below.
Ångström Makerspace is a creative workshop open for all students, researchers and staff at Uppsala University, which is why it’s important to take care of our space and equipment.
All work in Ångström Makerspace is done at the user's own risk.
The user takes responsibility for their actions and shows consideration for other users.
Everything the user finds in Ångström Makerspace can be used, within reason. Ångström Makerspace staff reserve the right to determine what is reasonable use with respect to the specific case. These reasonable limits apply both in terms of volume and objects.
Nothing is allowed to be used or created for personal financial gain or commercial use.
It is not permitted to bring or make/print weapons, realistic weapon replicas, or explosives into Makerspace.
It is not permitted to bring or make/print explicit content such as nudity and drugs.
PLA is the only allowed printing material at Ångström Makerspace. Any other filament type is prohibited.
The user is not allowed to take/use people's private filament/components, whether it’s from the shelves or project boxes.
The user should always tidy up after themselves. A good rule of thumb is to try and leave Ångström Makerspace tidier than when you arrived. Return tools and materials to their designated places, and maintain cleanliness and organisation of the space.
It is not permitted to remove equipment, materials or anything else from Ångström Makerspace, except for the user's own prints and/or projects. It is not allowed to borrow equipment, materials or anything else to take outside of Ångström Makerspace without explicit approval from Ångström Makerspace staff.
It is not permitted to consume alcohol/drugs on the premises or use any of Ångström Makerspaces tools under the influence.
A 3D-printing licence acquired through Ångström Makerspace’s introduction course is required to use the 3D-printers. All other equipment can be used without a licence.
To use the printers the user needs to book them. If not, then they may lose their print. If the user does not show up for the booking within 30 minutes anyone else can use the printer during that booked time.
If the user is booking for +12h, please note that a motivation/description in the "Description" field of your booking is required.
If the user is booking for +24h or want to use several printers in parallel, an email to makerspace-angstrom@uu.se with a request (time estimate and project details) needs to be sent by the user and Ångström Makerspace staff will consider approving it.
Ångström Makerspace reserves the right to remove any booking for any reason, the most likely being that you have not had your booking approved or that you are booking several printers at once without permission.
Tools may be used by anyone who possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to use the tool safely. This also means being able to use the tool without damaging it. Using the 3D-printers requires a licence issued by Ångström Makerspace.
Hot tools must be handled so that there is no fire hazard or any safety risk.
Paint and other chemicals must be handled so that any spillage does not damage Ångström Makerspace.
The user is responsible for following the regulations and laws that apply in Sweden at Ångström Makerspace.
The user may not expose anyone to harm or risk of harm. The user may not damage or risk damage to another person's project, the space or shared equipment.
If you are unsure about how to operate a particular tool or piece of equipment, seek assistance from Ångström Makerspace’s staff. Don't hesitate to ask questions or request guidance, you are always welcome to ask in person or on email: makerspace-angstrom@uu.se
The user must abide by the Ångström Makerspace code of conduct as well as rules of Uppsala University. Treat everyone with respect, inclusivity, and fairness. Discrimination, harassment, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
