The GB3D Type Fossils Online project, aims to develop a single database of the type specimens, held in British collections, of macrofossil species and subspecies found in the UK, including links to photographs (including 'anaglyph' stereo pairs) and a selection of 3D digital models.

The site is updated with articles about the cutting edge of research, by the researchers themselves. These are usually written by experts in the field, but are aimed at non-specialists.

Fossilworks provides query, download, and analysis tools that utilize the Paleobiology Database's large relational database, contributed by 444 scientists from 171 institutions in 29 countries
