Comments

  • In the author element you use the name associated with the account.
  • In the reference list entry you include the date when the post was made. In the in-text citation however, you only include the year.
  • The first 20 words are considered the title. Count URL or other links, a hashtag or an emoji as one word each and add them to the title if they fall within the first 20 words.  
  • If the post include images, videos, thumbnail links to outside sources or content from another post you indicate that in square brackets.
  • Describe type of post (e.g., [Status update], [Video] in square brackets
  • Credit Facebook as the name of the website in the source element and provide URL of the post.

Comments

  • You provide the author the same way as in any other list entry. After that you provide username (beginning with @) in square brackets, followed by a period. 
  • Include the specific date when the post was made in the reference list entry. In the in-text citation you only include year.
  • You provide the first 20 words as title, in italics. Count a URL, a hashtag or an emoji as one word each and include them in the title if they are within the first 20 words.  
  • If a post includes an image, a video or a thumbnail link you indicate that in square brackets after title: [Image attached], [Video attached], [Thumbnail with link attached].
  • Describe the type of post in square brackets: Tweet], [Photo], [Video], [Highligt], [Instagram profile]
  • Include the name of the website (if it is not the same as the organisation in the author element) and URL.
